This three storeyed strongly built gate constructed with red sandstone is remarkable for its unique features, strength and surface decoration: The shapely pointed arch of the entrance is decorated with stone carvings in relief. There is a rectangular window in its second storey and the third storey is notable for its three openings supported on square pillars and brackets. The parapet has flamed merlons with small openings in the centre. The attached bastions (quoins) are topped with circular low domes. The entire structure is marked for deep niches and rectangular panels, decorated with blue and white mosaic bands with floral and geometric designs. The domes were also decorated with glazed tiles.
